Springtime and the sipping is easy at The Gibson DC

Springtime and the sipping is easy at The Gibson DC

With this glorious spring weather, I can’t help but yearn for drinks on the patio!

The Gibson is one of the best cocktail bars in the city, and its patio is NOW OPEN, making for the best of both worlds! I recently tried a few of the seasonal cocktails at their spring menu unveiling, and can happily say I will be enjoying some spring cocktails on their patio again very soon!

All of the drink inspiration at the Gibson comes from their talented (and entertaining!) bartenders and their use of seasonal ingredients. One of my favorite parts of drinking at the Gibson: entertainment from the names of the cocktails! Creative names, creative cocktails.

The new menu has over 10 spring cocktails, with something for everyone. Plus, with a lot of vegetable juices and fruit involved, you are getting some nutrition in too, right?

Don’t believe me? Try the “Resolve” with kale syrup, pisco, and a kale garnish that is basically a salad in itself. The Gibson takes their garnishes seriously!

Beet more your thing? The “Gurl’ That’s one fierce Beet” combines beets with gin, orange, lemon, and bitters for a delicious and refreshing drink.  Also, beet = detoxifier, so win all around!

I’ve been interested in trying the Bolivian brandy “singani” which seems to getting more popular on menus around, and “B2HM2” made with Singani, yellow chartreuse is a good albeit potent introduction!

Other crowd favorites were the “Lust #1” made with rye whiskey, and the “Chiquito” made with tequila and hibiscus. The new menu literally has something for everyone, and of course all the classics are always available too!

So head to The Gibson to enjoy a few cocktails and enjoy the patio (without any maddening crowds!) this spring!

The Gibson is located at 2009 14th St NW and is open at 6PM daily. Make a reservation!
