A fall feast at Provision 14

A fall feast at Provision 14

I can’t believe it’s already November! This year has just flown by. Anyway, I’m happy that cool weather is finally here, and along with that comes all the fall flavors. No, NOT thinking about Pumpkin spice lattes – cannot stand those. What I’m going to think about, however, is the delicious new fall additions at Provision 14.

If you are the kind who does not want to let go of summer, the seasonal slushie cocktail is for you. It’s summer and fall all in one – a slushie made with 6 varieties of baked apples and pears, bourbon , applejack, cinnamon and fenugreek. (Fenugreek in a cocktail surprised me too!) Either way, whether you area bourbon lover or not, this was easy sipping.

Another cocktail I enjoyed was the cranberry fall fizz – with fresh cranberries, ginger, fall spices, bourbon and rum, agrnished with candied ginger. I’m not a huge cocktail drinker, but this was one of those drinks that is just too easy to drink. Kinda dangerous, but hey, the holidays are coming!

To go along, Chef Jacob Williams has added refined twists on daily comfort food to the menu.  Thick cut onion rings stuffed with gruyere and served with sriracha aioli are the stuff my drinking dreams are made of.

Pro Tip: Try this during their Happy Hour, which is awesome, running from 5-9pm Tue- Thu and till 8pm on Fri.

Then come the Chesapeake crab hush puppies – amazing little bites of Maryland lump crab, sweet potato puree, and onion soubise. Super tasty, super satisfying.

One of my favorites of the evening was the salmon risotto served with toasted pumpkin seeds and kale. I’m getting this for dinner all season long! Along with the sticky bun chicken sandwich – which has pulled roasted, chicken between sticky buns with brown sugar, chili rub, and mustard glaze.

End your with the fried apple dessert-  apple bourbon spiced pound cake dusted with nutmeg and ginger snap gelato. (I ate this too fast to snap a photo!)

Check out the full menu HERE. (Sorry, it will make you hungry!). Talk about a fall feast!
